Directions to
Cedarwood Hall/Westchester Institute for Human Development (WIHD)
From New England:
New England Thruway or Merritt/Hutchinson River
Parkway to Cross Westchester Expressway (I-287).
Proceed WEST on I-287 toward Tappan Zee Bridge to Exit 3, Sprain Brook
Parkway North.
Continue north on the Sprain to Eastview exit (Route 100C).
Make a left turn onto Rte. 100 C. *At
signs for Westchester Medical Center and New York Medical College, make a
right turn onto Woods Rd. (the entrance to the Medical Center). Proceed 1/2
mile on Woods Rd. to signs for the Behavioral Health Center, Main Hospital,
Ruth Taylor Institute, and all other facilities. Turn left at the signs. ***Pass
Elmwood Hall on the right, then turn right.
Proceed 2/10 mile and at the stop sign, turn left, and then another
left (you’re basically driving around
the mall). Cedarwood Hall is the building on your right with
satellite dishes on the roof.
PARKING: At this
time, Westchester Medical is reconfiguring its parking lots, so we are not
sure how this will affect ParentLink parking. There is a lot directly in front
of Cedarwood Hall, and you may enter the gate and park here, HOWEVER…there
may be a $4 fee upon exiting the lot, so be prepared with either singles, or a
five dollar
bill.
From East Side of New York City and Long Island:
Take
the Major Deegan Expressway (I-87) north into the New York State Thruway. Take
Exit 8 from the Thruway onto the EAST-bound Cross Westchester Expressway
(I-287). Go
l.7 miles on the Cross Westchester to Exit 4, Route 100A, Knollwood Rd. **At
the end of the exit ramp, turn left onto Route 100A, Knollwood Rd. Proceed 1.9
miles north on Knollwood to the intersection with Rte. 100C, Grasslands Road.
There is a Mobil station on your left and a Getty station on your right at
that intersection. Turn left onto Rte 100C. Pass over the Sprain Brook Pkwy to
signs for Westchester Medical Center and New York Medical College on your
right. Proceed from *as above.
From
the West:
Take
the New York State Thruway South across the Tappan Zee Bridge.
Continue onto the Cross Westchester Expressway (I-287) to Exit 4, Route
100A, Knollwood Rd.
At the stop sign at the end of the exit ramp, turn left onto Rte.
100A, Knollwood Road.
Proceed from ** as above from
East Side.
From
Southern Westchester via Bronx River Parkway:
Take the Bronx River Parkway North to Exit 26,
Virginia Rd. (fourth traffic light after County Center at White Plains).
Turn left onto Virginia Rd.
Proceed 4/10 mile to Rte. 100.
Turn right at the Shell station onto Route 100.
Proceed 1.3 miles to a traffic light, passing Westchester Community
College on the left and a cemetery on the right. Proceed straight through the
traffic light, pass over the Sprain Brook Pkwy.
To signs for Westchester Medical Center and New York Medical College on
your right. Proceed from * as above
from New England.
From
Northern Westchester and Upstate New York:
Take
the Taconic or Saw Mill Pkwy South to the Sprain Brook Pkwy.
Take the first exit, Hawthorne, Rte. 100, Westchester Medical Center.
At the end of the exit ramp, turn right and proceed south on Rte. 100
for a 9/10 mile.
Turn right on Hospital Rd.
Pass over the Sprain Brook Pkwy, to the stop sign.
Make a left turn onto Woods Rd.
Continue on Woods Rd. for 6/10 mile.
At the signs for the Corrections Department and all other facilities,
turn right. Pass
Elmwood Hall on your right.
